The literary club of Mcph held the event of Desabhasa on 6th November 2017. The idea was to have a one person read the work in its original language while another moderates by providing a translation or a gist as context to what is being read.
This time, Kannada was the chosen language. Starting from the 16th century poet-philosopher Kanakadasa, the readings moved to Da Ra Bendre from Dharwad, Jayanth Kaikini from Gokarna, Devanooru Mahadeva from Chamarajnagara and concluded with Gopalakrishna Adiga from Kundapura. The intent was to give a sense of various dialects of Kannada and the evolution in poetry itself.
Presented and moderated by: Pavan, Ashwini, Archana, Jessica and Jude.
