Gender and Philosophy

This course examines key issues related to the critical study  of gender lectures and discussions The course will explore themes through a critical framework related to the relationship between gender and rationality, the meaning of masculinity and femininity, gender and the body, women’s studies and the impact of gender upon research, generation of scientific knowledge, and other cultural institutions. Relying on texts and secondary sources, the course will emphasizes issues in contemporary feminist thought and draw on historical evidence to demonstrate origins of such issues.  The course will also study how economic and social policies are engendered.
