Yantra, Mantra, Tantra and Natya lecture demonstration by Dr. Padmaja Suresh

Dr. Padmaja Suresh presented a performative lecture on 14th February at MCPH. Experienced and noted artiste of Bharatnatyam, teacher, researcher, social worker and choreographer, Dr. Padmaja , daughter of late Chakyar Rajan and disciple of Guru Kalyanasundaram has performed at major dance festivals throughout the country, organisations and the Rashtrapati Bhavan before the ex- president late Dr. Abdul Kalam.

The common coining of Natya Yoga or Natya Tantra as synonymous as dance with dance forms such as Bharatnatyam is not without sufficient ground.Dance is the union of Siva and Sakti, the Laya Yoga when Ardhanarisvara within one’s subtle body is in action portraying the generative, operative and destructive forces. THAT THOU ART is the highest realization during Natya Sadhana, a feeling of being One and the same , yet different.
